If you are thinking about selling in the 2018 Spring market, you may want to get your house ready NOW!  Winter is a good time to start removing clutter and organizing for where you'll be heading next.  If you are a Seller moving to a larger home you may want to think about what you could use in your next home.  For example, if you are intending to get a new bedspread or bathroom towels, you can buy them now and use them in your current home to give it a fresh look for showings. This could also hold true for some of your furniture.  If you are downsizing, you may want to think about items you do not intend to keep and get rid of them now to create a better and more spacious look for your home when it goes on the market.  This will also give you less items to move!

You may also want to go through your home and fix any small items that you put off repairing.  Painting and recarpeting are always important to do prior to putting your house on the market.  These are just a few things that you could do during the cold winter months.  Outside work can be done as you approach Spring.

If you are a Buyer you may want to talk to a Lender to see if you have any credit issues that can be cleared up now so that you will be able to compete favorably for homes during the highly competitive Spring market.  You may be able to keep your debt payments but rather save up your money so it can be used to buy your next home.

Hopefully interest mortgage rates will remain low to help the real estate market continue to boom.
